Management Profiles

BoschettoPaul Boschetto, Chief Executive Officer of Able Services, joined the company in 1976 assuming the role of Operations Manager. From 1978 to 1988, Paul was responsible for all aspects of the company's sales and marketing. He was promoted to President in 1988 and later was named Chief Executive Officer of Able Services. Paul was the former President of the Contractors' Association. He plays an ongoing and active role in reviewing current and new business while ensuring that client needs are always being met.
BensiPaul Bensi, Paul Bensi, Chief Executive Officer of Able Engineering Services, began his career as an Apprentice Engineer. Mr. Bensi actively participates in affiliated international union committees and local and national BOMA events.
SacconePaul Saccone, President , came to Able Engineering from Equity Office where he served as vice-president - corporate engineering and energy. He was responsible for the strategy and execution of Equity Office's energy operations, security, and life safety as well as for the leadership direction and management of the company's engineering and construction functions at the national level. He also directed Equity Office's industry-leading energy function, which included procurement, conservation, monitoring, investment, and education and training as well as, environmental compliance. Prior to Able Engineering Services and Equity Office, he was director of hotel operations at Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Boston and director of engineering operations for the Saunders Hotel group. During his nine-year tenure in the hotel industry, he oversaw hotel management, engineering and energy operations, and hotel renovations, Mr. Saccone is a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and Association of Facility Engineers (AFE). He holds a BS ME from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA).
JohnsonJim Johnson, Vice President, National Director of Operations, began his commercial career in 1977 performing field service for Comm Air while attending apprentice and journeyman programs at Local 342, an East Bay based Steam and Pipe Fitters union (specializing in refrigeration). In 1987, he left field service and began his career as a journeyman engineer in a San Francisco high rise for Comm Air. He became a Chief Engineer and moved on to other properties in the capacity of chief, ultimately being promoted to Engineering Manager with ISS in 1994. Mr. Johnson joined the team at AES shortly after its inception in 1995. He is responsible for national operations of the company.
PalmerJeff Palmer, Vice President, Northern California, is a graduate of the California Maritime Academy holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Upon graduation, he worked in the marine engineering industry where he attained the certification of USCG Chief Engineer. Mr. Palmer then transitioned into the health care environment where he progressed from a journeymen engineer to the position of Chief Engineer with global responsibilities for plant operations. In 2000, Mr. Palmer joined AES in the role of Engineering Manager. He was currently assigned as the Vice President for the Northern California office. He is also responsible for overseeing a variety of engineering operations including hotels, data centers, and high rise office complexes.
PaniaguaRichard Paniagua, Senior Engineering Manager, completed the Stationary Engineering Apprenticeship Program in 1968 and continued his studies at the College of San Mateo. In 1985, he earned his Real Estate Management degree. Additionally, Mr. Paniagua received a Labor Studies degree from City College of San Francisco in 1985. In 1970, Mr. Paniagua served as a Business Representative for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39. Mr. Paniagua then changed to property management where he worked at Menlo Development Company as the Vice President of Property Management. In 1987, Mr. Paniagua transitioned out of the property management field back to the engineering industry serving as the Principal for Lazer Maintenance. In 1991, Mr. Paniagua began his career as an Engineering Manager for Shorenstein Real Estate Services and joined AES in 1997 in his present position as a Senior Engineering Manager.
Brian PagacBrian Pagac Senior Branch Manager, began his career in 1984 with Hyatt Hotels in Michigan, operating the plant for an 800 + room, class A hotel and 20,000 square foot convention center. In 1986 he relocated to California and operated several central plants in downtown Los Angeles including a 12 Mega Watt cogeneration plant. In 1991 he became the Assistant Chief at the Gas Tower in Los Angeles, a 1.4 million square foot property with approximately 3,800 tons of cooling. In 2003, he joined the Able Engineering Services team in Los Angeles. He has extensive experience in recruiting, hiring, training, building PM programs and operations management for various types of commercial facilities. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Operations Management and is a member of AEE, BOMA, and actively participates in the EPA Energy Star program.
CombsDaniel Combs, Engineering Manager, began his career as a technician in the Civil Engineering Department at a military installation. After being assigned to several Air Force venues, Mr. Combs transitioned into the health care industry assuming the role as journeyman engineer at a hospital complex in Northern California. Five years later, he transitioned to private industry where Mr. Combs served as Assistant Chief Engineer at a hotel-office high rise complex in San Francisco. In 1991, he was promoted to Chief Engineer and continued to serve there until the end of 1998. In January 1999, Mr. Combs began his current position of Engineering Manager at AES. He is currently responsible for overseeing a variety of engineering operations including hotels, both office and residential complexes, and currently directs AES' operations in Hawaii.
CorviJeff Corvi, Engineering Manager, is a graduate of the University of San Francisco holding a Bachelors degree in Public Administration. Upon completion of his formal education, he was employed at Mayta and Jensen working in the commercial construction field. Mr. Corvi then became a partner in a family owned business serving as the chief installer for custom cabinetry, cubicle and work stations. Subsequently, Mr. Corvi began his building services career with a commercial parking venue in San Francisco as Operations Manager. In 1998, Jeff joined AES and he is serving in his present position as an Engineering Manager.
Jack O'RourkeJack O'Rourke, Engineering Manager, - Chicago, completed the Stationary Engineering Apprenticeship Program in 1985 and continued his studies at Triton College and Wright Jr. College. Jack has worked at various types of properties including office buildings, data centers, hotels and governmental In 1998, he was the Chief Engineer for Prudential Plaza a 3,000,000 sf property in Chicago. He has opened new properties and was involved with the acceptance and commissioning of properties. In 2003 Mr. O'Rourke became an Engineering Manager for Able Engineering Services. Mr. O'Rourke belongs to various commissioning organizations and ASHARE
StauntonBrian Staunton, Engineering Manager, Chicago, is a graduate of the Triton College holding an Associates Degree in Stationary Engineering. Brian began working in the field in 1996 as an apprentice Stationary Engineer. In 1998, he received a City of Chicago Stationary Engineers License and became a journeyman Stationary Engineer. Mr. Staunton worked for several years as a journeyman and later progressed to a Chief Engineer position. In 2002, Mr. Staunton became an Assistant Technical Coordinator of a mission critical data center overseeing all facility operations. In 2007, Mr. Staunton joined AES in the role of Engineering Manager. He is currently assigned to the Chicago office and is responsible for overseeing operations for high rise office complexes, high rise residential complexes and commercial shopping centers.
Eric SorensenEric Sorensen, Regional Branch Manager, Southern California, brings with him over 20 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of commercial real estate from hi-rise office and condominium, to hotels, central plant facilities and medical centers. He is a BOMA/ Greater-LA certified graduate apprentice from Stationary as well as Operating Engineers/ Los Angeles Trade Technical College and holds a State of California (C-10) Electrical Contractors License, as well, other trade and industry related memberships and certifications. Mr. Sorensen progressed from Journeyman Engineer to Chief Engineer, then to Engineering District Manager and in 2005, joined AES in the role of Engineering Manager. He was currently assigned as the Regional Branch Manager for the South Bay/Long Beach, Orange County and San Diego Regions, and supports the overall operations of the Southern California/ Greater Los Angeles Branch.
Don O'NeilDon O'Neil, Engineering Manager, Central Region. Don's experience in facility operations runs the gamut, having served as Chief Engineer in numerous commercial buildings as well as a high rise luxury condominium, a class 1 horse racing facility, and Facility Manager of the Houston Zoo. Mr. O'Neil has also served as Project Manager on numerous commercial projects through out the United States, and has had responsibility over several million square feet of commercial development as Corporate Chief Engineer. Don joined AES in January of 2007, and is currently assigned to the Central Region covering Texas and Oklahoma. Don holds a City of Houston First Grade Stationary Engineers License and a State of Texas Maintenance Electricians License
HallSteve Hall, Engineering Manager, began his career in 1987 in the electricians union in Southern California working as a residential wireman for new construction. In 1989 he left the electricians union and began his apprenticeship in the operating engineers union in Los Angeles, Ca. He worked for Shuwa Investments during his apprenticeship at 3 - class "A" commercial office buildings, after completing his apprenticeship and becoming BOMA certified, he went to work for CB/Richard Ellis at 400 South Hope St. in Los Angeles where he was directly involved in 2 large chiller retrofits, a 1200 ton Trane Centravac and 730 ton Trane variable frequency drive chiller, a complete fire life safety upgrade and several other large capital projects for the 26 story hi-rise. After 911 he took a job in Orange County Ca., as a Chief Engineer for LBA Realty overseeing multiple properties throughout the Orange County area including 19000 MacArthur Blvd. where he was at the forefront of energy savings with the installation of Turbocor compressors at his site. He joined Able Engineering in October of 2006 and oversees the South Bay/ Long Beach and Orange County areas.
bensiRick Bensi, Engineering Manager, has been in the stationary engineering field for 21 years. He has an extremely broad base of experience in the industry in a variety of settings which include healthcare, data centers, office buildings and the hospitality industry. He joined the Able team in 1995 and quickly advanced to the role of chief engineer. Over the past 11 years as chief engineer Rick has distinguished himself as a leader in the industry spearheading such projects as Energy Starr accreditation, implementation of a co-generation plant and performing due diligence on a number of property purchases. Rick joined the management team at the Able corporate offices in June of 2007 and has quickly proven himself a valuable asset to the team.
BurnsRobert Burns, Engineering Manager, Northern California, who upon receiving his General Contractors License was also a graduate of the local 39 apprenticeship in San Francisco. He spent more than 15 years in the stationary engineering field with 12 of those years spent with 5 star hotels. Robert has managed facilities at the Assistant Chief and Chief Engineer capacity throughout San Francisco and currently functions as an Engineering Manager responsible for more than 10 million square feet throughout the greater Bay Area.
Louis F. McTague IIILouis F. McTague III, Engineering Manager has worked in the Engineering industry for over 25 years. He progressed from journeyman engineer to his first position as Chief Engineer for at the 2.5 million square foot Wells Fargo Center in 1981. Prior to joining AES in 1999 he held the following positions in the industry.

Director of Engineering & Facilities: CJ Segerstrom Family with responsibility for the operation of 3 million square feet of retail space. He was also responsible for Cogeneration plants, data centers. Mission Critical Facilities and High rise Class A buildings. He has been involved in the start up and commissioning of numerous central plants and facilities across the United States and has an extensive background in Mission Critical Facilities Energy Analysis, benchmarking, and utility reporting.
PowellSteve Powell, Engineering Manager Los Angeles Office, worked 8 years as an Operating Engineer for Ogden Allied Services and for UNICCO Service Co. In 1997 he was promoted to Contract Manager for engineering contracts in the Los Angeles area. As Manager he was responsible for plant operations, budgets, and facility projects. He began working for AES as an Engineering Manager in December of 2006.
Chet BowlsbyChet Bowlsby, Engineering Manager for Portland, Oregon, entered the engineering industry in 1983 as an engineer at a high rise medical facility. He was quickly promoted to Chief Engineer with complete responsibility for all operations and maintenance. From there he transitioned to Operations Supervisor for a portfolio of Class A office buildings for Landsing Property Corporation in Portland where he was responsible for all engineers and global operations. During this time he was awarded the BOMA designation of Systems Maintenance Administrator and was active in the Association of Energy Engineers. When Equity Office Properties in Portland was purchased by Shorenstein Realty Services in 2007, Mr. Bowlsby joined Able Engineering Services to establish a presence in the Portland market. Chet has been responsible for engineering and maintenance operations in industrial parks, shopping centers, medical facilities, corporate office parks, and high rise office buildings throughout his career.
HoffmanBruce Hoffman,Engineering Manager Seattle, WA, served on active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard as a machinery technician from 1976 to 1980. He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves in 2006 as a Chief Petty Officer having spent the majority of his time at Naval Engineering Support Unit in Seattle.
Upon discharge from active duty in 1980, he became a building engineer for Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center from 1980 to 1987. He joined Wright Runstad and Company, a Seattle based high rise commercial office development and management company, where he was Chief Engineer for several high rise buildings in the Seattle and Bellevue, Washington central business district. He also started up three new high rise buildings during that time period. In February of 2000, he transitioned to Equity Office Properties upon sale of the buildings where he was promoted to Manager of Portfolio Engineering. As Manager of Portfolio Engineering, he was responsible for managing the engineering teams as well as capital engineering projects for up to 3.8 million square feet of property in Seattle. He joined AES in April 2007 as Engineering Manager working in the Seattle and Hawaii markets.
ReyJohn Rey, Engineering Manager, East Coast, began his career as an Apprentice Engineer and advanced to the position of Chief Engineer. In 1985 Mr. Rey held the distinction of being a Chief Engineer at the youngest allowable age in the City of Philadelphia. Mr. Rey joined Building Technology Engineers in 1997 as a Project Manager subsequently advancing to the position of East Coast Operations Manager. In 2006 Mr. Rey joined the ranks of Able Engineering at his current position. Mr. Rey obtained his RPA designation in 1993 accredited through BOMA.
